Abia Assembly Screens, Clears Nominees for Abia State House of Assembly Service Commission.


The Abia State House of Assembly has successfully screened and confirmed Nominees for the Abia State House of Assembly Service Commission with a charge to ensure the sanctity and cohesion of everything the Legislative Commission represents is sacrosanct.

The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa said the agitations for the establishment of the Commission has yielded positives following the quality of the assemblage of the nominees, hinting it is a right step in the right direction, as the Administrative autonomy has put paid the call for a true independence of the State Legislature.

The Chairman of the Adhoc Committee in charge of the screening of the nominees, Hon Chinasa Anthony expressed satisfaction with the composition and urged them to ensure proactivity in their designated functions.

www.newsadmiral.com gathered that the nominees include Hon Uchechukwu N Maduako, who will serve as Chairman, was a Member of the Abia State House of Assembly in 1992, where he was House Committee Chairman on Rules and Business before stepping up to represent Isuikwuato/Umunneochi State Federal Constituency in 1999.

Others are Hon Destiny Akaraka Nwagwu who was a Member of the present 8th House before his ousting through litigation, Hon Chijioke Nwachukwu, a Member of the 6th Assembly, Mr Chiemela Iheanacho Wabara, the Labour Party Candidate for Ugwunagbo State Constituency in the 2023 elections, Mrs Grace Ibeh, a financial expert, Dr Steve Ochonma and Mr Ezechimere Ihuoma.
