The Member, Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson has reiterated his position on aligning with policies that enhance good governance instead of petty politicking by restating his resolve to partner with the Executive to deliver democratic dividends to Isuikwuato State Constituency.
In an exclusive with News Admiral, Hon Lucky Johnson said he is still a member of the People’s Democratic Party but does not preclude his interfacing with the Executive for the good of his Constituents, adding that the time politickng and it’s accompanying electioneering is over, reiterating his commitment to good representation and projection of the entire his State Constituency.
On the issue of whether it is true he is defecting to the ruling Labour Party in Abia State, Hon Lucky Johnson said his major area of emphasis and concentration is remaining astute in good representation, offering sound legislation and attracting good governance to his Constituency rather than pandering towards partisan affiliation, which he described as a mere vehicle and a means to an end.
On the benefits to Ndi Isuikwuato with regards to the enormous solid mineral deposits in the Constituency, Hon Lucky Johnson hinted that the people are yet to benefit from same as there are no visible positive impact of the resources in the lives of the citizens adding he is interfacing with companies operating quarry sites on the need for a Memorandum of Understanding with a view to highlighting the people’s needs as to be incorporated into the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Companies.
The Isuikwuato Lawmaker further debunked assumptions that mineral resources belong only to the locality where they are found adding that minings and blasting contribute to earth shift which have diverse negative implications around the Local Government at large.
Hon Johnson, who is also the House Committee Chairman on Public Account also said that the alleged misappropriation of 107.2 billion by the past administration in Abia State will be thoroughly scrutinized by the Assembly and recommendations made.
Highlighting on his relationship with the Federal Lawmaker representing Isuikwuato-Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon Johnson said there is synergy between them as they are partners in progress.
Agriculture was also identified as the major need of Ndi Isuikwuato because of the vast arable land in the Constituency addy that there is an on going interface with relevant agencies to tackle the myriad of erosions ravaging the Constituency.
